I was generally thrilled with the IQ potential...

...but the AF, though not awful by any stretch of the imagination for most static and slow/predictably moving subjects, just feels awfully limiting after using the D3, D300 and D700 variously for the past 18 months. And this...

...was the deciding factor. Four of the ruined shots would have been great except for the moire. And I'm disinclined to spend several more months on a couple other bodies (or failed repair attempts as Canon tells me they can't reproduce the problem) to assure myself that the problem is systemic (or not). Two separate occurrences under roughly the same conditions pretty much tanked my confidence in the camera, so there was no point in going on with it. I strongly considered a 1DsIII, but trying it out in the store again this week left me underwhelmed by the AF performance.
