to sparrows where I live. Those flying mice are excluded from both
federal and Michigan state regulations protecting birds.

The vegetarian "thou shalt not kill" part of me is at war with the
part that wants to set up tip traps or take a .177 pellet gun to them.

They probably have the same type of stuff in the USA.

Now gristly as it may sound, the old Irish gamekeepers trick is to shoot just a couple of birds from the species you want to shift & than hang them upside down in a prominent place where they will be seen. It works.
