I'm not really involved in this discussion and I don't disagree with you ... BUT..

If a forum like this restricts "socially responsibe speech" in the
view of its targeted users (not just one person like you), do you
think it will thrive. Get real.

That's not what I have been proposing. I just claim that

a) since Dpreview is not owned by an individual but a corporation it
is appropriate that they follow some principles of corporate
responsibility (in other words, PA saying "My site, my rules" is not
acceptable)
b) corporate responsibility in a media corporation involves
respecting and promoting free speech (defined as expression and
interchange of ideas in an articulate fashion)
c) blocking or yanking threads where said interchange is happening
negates this corporate responsibility

Let's not ignore what started this discussion:

I think it's Amazon's. Thererore one is entitled to demand the same
degree of corporate responsability in regard of the protection of
free speech as any other media corporation.

A corporation has no responsibility to "protect" or "promote" or
"respect" free speech. It can limit free speech in the course of
setting the rules for its business. If this forum wants to yank a
post because of personal insults or abusive language, it is well
within its rights to do so.

Do we know that it was yanked because of personal insults or abusive language? Without an explanation or valid reason from DP we cannot be sure and that cannot be a good thing.

And it is not violating (in the US) the freedom of speech of the
First Amendment of the Constitution in doing so. That's my point.
