RAW versus JPEG -- again

Whoever says JPEG is just as good as RAW, is demonstrably wrong.

Do the test for yourself. Shoot RAW+JPEG (Large, Fine, Optimal quality compression), open the RAW file in NX with no changes and save as a 16 bit TIFF, then compare it to the out of camera JPEG. The difference is about as much as you would see between an expensive lens and a cheap one.
