Photography during a helicopter trip... help in advance pls

I have booked a helicopter trip for me and my wife.. (it's admittedly going to be quite short; in the Derbyshire district of the UK... (strictly rural then)) Cameras are encouraged.

I could 'learn' whilst up there but a few 'obvious' tips would help me in this brief excursion.

I have a 24-70 and a 70-300 to use. I don't want to take both and make multiple changes during the flight; it will just waste the time we have for looking and possibly enjoying the experience.

for experienced flyers; what would you take if only one option of the two lenses were available? I'm guessing the wide zoom.. but i'm open to advice.

I'm posting here only because I will be using a D700 and want advice, specific (if any) to using that.

Many thank in advance
There is a very fine line between 'hobby' and 'mental illness.' :'!':
