***New Mini Challenge 153 Motion is up***

Hi Mike

Thanks for these

'I had no idea it was this big' is a banal comment to make about something this beautiful and photo'd so well. I suppose I am used to seeing mountains and getting a sense of their size. This is in a different ball park.

Best wishes

Hi Trafford

It has been so, so long since I have seen carthorses going down the street.

Was when I was about five ... the 'Rag'n'bone Man' would go up our street ever week or so ... the slow approach oaf the clopping and his repeated wail of 'Raaaag'n'bone!' is part of the sound track of my childhood.

Thanks for that

Hi Charles

I enjoyed these a lot. The runner, especially, stuck in my mind from my first viewing a few days ago, because, I reckon, the facial espression of the subject drew me even further into the experience. The other guy ... I DID get sucked into the action but more in the slipstream of his motion, bu twith the runner, I was pulled into HIS experience of effort.

Street photography is one of my main areas and I am well aware of the short f-length/right place right time/splitsecond notice-compose-expose skills and experience you applied to get these beautiful shots. Much respect to you.

All the best

Hi Rich

Thanks for these

The raingutter boat race did something extra special for me and I wondered how and why. Took me back to Tabrizi's chess player a couple of years ago. This child is totally 'in' that moment and commited to the action. He and that little boat are so linked they almost have a family relationship! Magnificent moment ... I'd have been proud to have taken it and well done YOU for making that moment immortal.

All the best

Thank you for your support :-). Love the Action, Love the motion. It is amazing to see those fast flying acrobatic planes so near the city, amazing. thanks for entering these and giving us all something to wonder about.

Thank you very much Ernest,

Still photos may show the motion (in your imagination only), some true motion makes a difference. :)

Greetings,

Niagara Falls has to be the most seductive natural phenomenon in Canada. They're like a magnet to a visitor. The roar... the mist... the sheer volume of water that goes over those falls... and the fact that one can sit on a wall just a spit away from where the water spills over... all add to the allure.

Here's what I mean - this is a 18mm WA shot, so the near edge of the falls is just very few feet from where I was sitting:

Some more shots of the area here:

Thanks...your analyses (sp?) are always so thoughtful and on the money...you frequently put into words what I'm thinking but am not always able to express...it's much appreciated...

Thanks, again. I also find that there's a bit of luck involved :-)

Hi Jerry

That brings it even CLOSER to home for me ...

i Do know what it is liek to sit on the edge of pools or indeed, small waterfalls as we have with those Monster Six Footers ... ahem

The idea of Limitless wet drop here is ... well .. staggering

Er .. has ANYONE ever jumped? I don't mean for suicidal purposes ... I mean .. with the intent of staying alive?

All the best

The falls are astonishing, notwithstanding the touristy issues that surround it. When you realise that the water just keeps on coming and never stops, you can connect with the bountifulness and generosity of mother nature.

Hi Mike

I am now getting a hankering to visit them. I am not much of a traveller so it's unusual for me to feel that urge.

Bounteousness of mother nature ... that kind of clinches some deal in me. Very, very strong sense of connection now, which transcends even the awe. Thanks for that.

All the best
