Pixel-size, noise and DR.

Many here seems to think that smaller pixels is a good thing (and I tend to agree..), because for example a 25mp APS-C sensor would give more detail with the same noise, if we look at the whole image. (although the per-pixel noise would be higher)

That sounds reasonable, but what about Dynamic Range? Isn't it unavoidable that smaller pixels, with smaller 'wells', will clip ealier, and therefore cause loss of highlight detail? Isn't that the same as reduced DR? ..and isn't noise and DR like two sides of the same coin? If the image (or sensor) has less Dynamic Range, isn't that the same thing as saying that the image has more noise?
