I love how ridiculous messages like these get posted...

about JPEG vs RAW still. You should use what works for you. I started using RAWS and switched to JPEGS. I know very well what I can do with one and the other. I still use RAWs on some ocassions, but I gotta love someone trying to preach out of the blue without convincing arguments why pick one over the other, as it if was a one size fits all thing, because of their individual experience.

I am glad that for you RAW has been such revelation. For me, what I found is when I learned how to do photography better, I didn't quite get the blown highlights anymore, my workflow sped up, and instead of wasting my time doing tweak tweak tweak for good color or other things I could focus on photography better.

There are several pros that shoot and choose JPEG over RAWS for many reasons. Again, I am happy for you that you discovered a revelation for yourself, but please don't get on and preach the nonsense that RAW is "the way to go." There are reasons and individual preferences, that will shape one way or the other, and it's up to each individual needs, preferences, domain of photography and I will dare say in some cases, their skills.

This message is intended for those out there who are intermediate
shooters, like me. Those who have got the basics figured out
(mostly), and are ready to move on to the next level.

I have fought against using RAW for quite some time now. It just
seemed like a hassle, but now that I have committed to it, it's
remarkable the difference it has made. I've always heard about
recovering blown highlights, but didn't think it would help that
much. Trust me, it does, along with so many other things. I'm using
Adobe CS3 RAW and it has even helped with tweaking old jpg's. When I
get my photos where I like them, I save them as jpg's, that way with
one quick glance I can tell which pictures are the best.

Anyway, I hope this message convinces a few others out there to drop
the jpg's and try their hand a RAW files.

makes a good photograph.'
