Is Olympus limiting my creativity????

Hi all.

I really don't mean to sound like a troll but here me out.

As a photography enthusiast on a very limited budget, basic olympus bodies have always been enough for what I want to shoot. And frankly that's an understatement. I have a lot of appreciation for oly products.

However, I'm now finding I never have money I care to invest in lenses beyond my kit, to gain wide angle, telephoto, macro, shallow DoF etc. because few specialized Oly lenses can really be had for less than $400 US, even used MF gear.

I'm just wondering now if for someone on a budget, affordable glass, though low quality, may be more important than I'd thought in the past. Certainly glass is something we should make more of an investment in generally, but how do we know what to buy if we can't dip our feet in the water?

Nikon, Cannon and Sony are brands I'm sure we all keep an eye on, and though I'm more or less not a fan of their low end bodies, I wonder if the cheap, used glass alternatives are worth the switch, to expand creatively.
