A better deal on the MH-C800S charger, batteries

And for those needing a really good charger, the one that's always on
sale works extremely well, charging 8 batteries individually with
full status on each cell. I've been really impressed with this thing.

The cost of the charger is about $57, plus almost $9 for shipping. You can find the same charger for $55 with free shipping from multiple vendors on eBay.

I've bought lots of batteries from Thomas Distributing, there is a particularly good deal on that site for Kodak and NexCell branded low-self-discharge AA NiMh batteries (equivalent to Sanyo Eneloops, only considerably cheaper).

This thread touches on the lower cost of AA rechargeables compared to the EN-EL4 solution in the MB-D10 grip, and it looks like all the MB-D10 power solutions will work with (and fit) the MeiKi MK D300 3rd party grip as well. The Phottix Kosmo battery solution is also worthy of consideration. For $55, shipped, it offers the features of the EN-EL4a/BL-3/MH-21 solution for a cost that is (arguably) comparable to the AA option. I don't have one of these, but there are several threads on this forum with positive user reports on this item.
