I've just updated my website and I'm using iweb. Looks good on my 23 inch Apple Cinema monitor but I'd like to hear feedback on the photos, etc. from other people.

Thanks, Kirk Tuck

Hi Kirk,

Very nice site; the photography is just beautiful! I'm viewing the site on a Apple 17 inch Studio Display CRT Monitor (1024 x 768 resolution). Everything looks perfect to me except maybe the navigation bar at the top? It's not centered (off to the right) but I'm guessing it's supposed to be like that. Very nice in any case :-)

Kirk,

Nice layout and some very beautiful portraits! Works fine on my Mac with Safari 4.

I know you probably designed the site that way, but on large monitors, the width is a tad small. Not much to be done about that, I suppose, if you're trying to reach the biggest possible population.

Cheers!

Your site looks very nice. I am working on my own now. Would you please tell me about "Delivery as a web based gallery".

PS4 can create a gallery, but it seems impossible to export it to iWeb.

Very nice looking, but could be more useful if the images on the front page take you to some photo libraries. Its a photography site and nothing should stand in the way of seeing the photography, so I don't think you want folks hunting through the navigation options at the top to figure out how to see whether they want you to take their pictures.

1. I would reshufle the photos on the welcome page. The logo to the right of the top photograph looks like a place holder. Probably it would be better to put the text there. "About me" for example look much better organized. The righ and left margins are too different.

2. The welcome page had black background versus grey on all otgher pages. Links is white.

3. 2008 continued has too much empty space at the bottom.

4. I had an impression that the pages are way too narrow.

5. The same photo ( the young guy with a curly hair ) is repeated on many pages, I couted 5. Nice photos but it gives am impression that you are short on photograph - not a good publicity.

Did you produce the photo galleries with iWeb? I like it very much. My site, http://www.NYPetShots.com , has galleries I made within Windows, with a server based web builder. The galleries were with SimpleViewer/Porta. I've now switched to the iMac, and my galleries don't play properly with Safari or Firefox. Yet, I know they still look good with windows browsers.

I'm looking for a new gallery builder I can use with the Mac. I was thinking of using Lightroom. I'[m very impressed with the layout of your galleries. So, do you think I could reproduce, or even rebuild my current site with iWeb?

Thanks,

Steven

I use Smugmug to make web galleries and I send links with passwords to the clients. The smugmug galleries are very customizable and quick and for the few direct to consumer jobs I do it's great to have them do fulfillment.

Thank you so much for your comments.

I found your site quite nice to look at and easy to follow... Many here will comment from a "IT" perspective but from my perspective as a "Photographer" I liked it quite a bit...

I asked my wife to look at it from a "Consumer's" perspective - just poke around, navigate and see if anything struck her as odd and she reported back that she had no problem getting around, seeing what she wanted and felt she could easily draw a conclusion to use your services based on what you provided ( meaning to at least make the call to make face to face inquiries )... As photographers that's about all we can ever ask for...

BTW - I have a copy of your Minimalist Lighting book which I pre-ordered before publish here in Japan through Amazon... Great stuff & the best compliment I can give is that it permanently resides on top of the stack of books in my toilet room... 8-)...

I also redid my site ~ http://www.ktmjapan.com ~ myself this past year with iWeb - including the galleries & the partially ( 80% ) finished Japanese site... 8-(

Overall, I am quite happy with the result and find it more than adequate for my professional needs... Mostly, the ability to easily add / edit and re-publish the site has made this a painless process for me...

Cheers...

Works well on my Air. Would have like to go somewhere when clicking the images on the front page. The width was fine for the laptop.

Nice job
