I'm not really sure what you're getting at. Are you saying that the files from the Canon will be bigger than expected?

I actually don't really care at this point about what kind of compression it uses. As long as the camera has a good movie mode, I'm happy.

Right now, my main video camera is the TX1. I shoot at VGA res (not LP mode). Are the files from the newer Canons significantly smaller? If so, I hope they didn't compromise on image quality or sound. I like Canon video because of its clear sound.
