Questions for 1d Mk II owners

I currently own a 5D and 40D and some fairly good (but maybe not the best) L lenses including 70-200 F2.8 IS, 300 F4 IS, 24-70 F2.8 & 17-40 F4. A lot of my shots are birds in flight or animals on the move and I get a lot of AF failures, generally more misses than hits. I don't believe it's all down to my technique.

I would like the 1d MIII but can't afford it, however I am seeing a lot of used 1D MKIIs coming onto the market as people upgrade. My question is am I likely to see a significant increase in the number of hits with a 1d Mk II, in terms of AF speed, accuracy and shooting in low light ?

Also:
1. Does it have user AF micro adjustment capability ?
2. Is 8.2 M pixels sufficient (I currently have 12M & 10M) ?
3. Would the 1Ds III AF be a lot better having a separate processor for this?

4. How good is the IQ and high ISO noise for other stuff like portraits & landscapes compared to my FF 50D ?

I would be grateful for your views

Gary
