While I agree that large cards are probably for people shooting RAW or video... but some would argue that NOT taking the card out of your camera is actually a better bet than constantly swapping.

These people would say that the most damage to a card is actually when it's in the real world... say getting hit, smushed, wet, static, etc...

So perhaps getting 10,000 images on your camera without removing the card is actually a Sane thing to do? Specially when wifi is more standardized...
