Changing lens mount - question
I just picked up a 24mm Super-Wide II for peanuts as an experiment. It has a Canon mount and I wondered whether it would be feasible to re-mount it with an SA mount just by disassembly and substituting parts from a.n.other Sigma lens without resorting to hacking lumps off. Simple answer: no. Question is, is this mainly because the Canon mount is so physically different from the SA mount or because the old mechanical mount of the 24mm is just too different from todayt's mounts? Would it for example be relatively straightforward to change the mount of a Sigma 180mm 5.6 macro from Canon to SA (or from Nikon to SA)?
Any tips appreciated Remember though, I'm not looking for tips on how to change other manufacturer's lenses to SA, but SIGMA lenses of varying vintage in alternate mounts to SA.
