Um, Canon XL2?

Sells for about three grand.

Interhangeable lenses.

Shaped like a camcorder, not like a dslr, so you can actually hold it on your shoulder and pan like handheld film and video cameras are typically handled.

3 CCD's.

2" adjustable location EVF.

Much longer battery life.

Greater storage options.

XLR input ports

External video controls, lots of them.

Not to rain on anyone's parade, because the GH1 actually looks very nice. And it does have the XL2 beat on resolution, shallow DOF, and lens price.

But... it has a long way to go before it's a package that can actually be handled like a video camera needs to be handled, for any period of time. The dslr body style and menu driven options might be okay for thirty second youtube shots, but hold it up to your eye for ten minutes and see if you don't get very tired. Try to change video options quickly. Menu, menu. menu.

When Panny transfers the guts of the GH1 into a body set up for video work, they'll really have something. I strongly suspect they will do just that. If they take a really bold step and use 3 4/3 sensors.... wow. That would make a serious pro level video tool for probably three or four grand. They could knock Canon out, and give low end Sony pro video gear some real worries.
