Thing is that f/2 lens will AF much easier and give you a much brighter view for manual focusing...My Canon $500 HG20 will AF is low light areas than my DSLR or any of my dedicated still cams can only dream of with a normal f/5.6 tele lens...That ISO signal amplification doesn't help there...
