I think you have missed the main point. The very different exposures of the files used can cause significantly different levels of noise and therefore the comparison is flawed in this one respect to start with. You think people are pointing this out because the results do or don't favor a particular camera. That may be true for some individuals but not others. You argue to let stand a comparison that might lead to the wrong conclusions simply because good effort was put forth. That is not scientific or useful. It is nice to the OP, but I think he would rather see how the science could be improved.
