DP1 - banding at iso400?

i have a brand new DP1 and been trying to shoot with it during the last days and doing some comparisons with my G1.

the first thing i discovered though is that the DP1-lens at f4.0 is not that sharp edge to edge as always claimed, maybe my model has some problem, but the kit-lens of my G1 is sharper in the edges at f4.0 (G1 was scaled down to match DP1 resolution).

here are the originals.

first i thought it could be because of camera shake, but the center is perfectly sharp. and i have taken many other shots that also show quite a severe corner-softness for my taste. i wanted to know how other DP1 users would judge this, as i am not sure if my camera is OK or not.

otherwise i maybe expected too much from this lens. it is a slow prime, optimized for this particular focal length, so it should be sharp even wide-open.

the other thing i noticed is some strange banding, that creeps in at iso400. i don't see it in all shots, but some of them are affected. here a 200% crop how it looks like:

here is the full-size image (unfortunately with slight camera shake):

is this a known problem? could it depend on the type of lighting? in this case i assume there was some flourescent lights.

i looked at the color-channels, but the banding is equal in all 3 channels, so what could be the reason for this?

thanks to all for your help.
