Made the Leap - Canon 300mm f2.8 IS Lens

Finally after all those months of dithering between the Canon 400 DO IS Lens and the Canon 300 f2.8 IS Lens - I bought the 300mm from Amazon UK!

Tried it today for the first time with my Canon 450D (hand held) and it does not disappoint! Awesome IQ and I was even successful with BIFs (fast moving seagulls at the harbour).

With BIFs - every 2 minutes, my left arm started to ache but letting the lense hang by its own strap (abeit held firmly with my right hand - just in case) - a quick shake of the left arm - and I was able to carry on.

Even without a 1.4x teleconverter (still to purchase) its reach was amazing.

Even more amazing, I fitted the 300mm, a 24L, a 50 f1.4 and the 450D body - all into my Lowepro 300 'Flipside' back pack. Putting the 450D and the 300 together - great fun!

Thanks to everyone who put up with my constant questions over the last year (to DO or not to DO) and who contributed so much great information!

Cheers!
