But I don't think you'd debate that you can get more out of an in-camera JPEG than from a RAW, would you? I do agree with Glenn's preference, in general; too many times I'm dissatisfied with the (quite common) practice of trying to open up all the shadows or take down all of the highlights - sometimes it just feels like "photography on sedatives" and seems to be less of "art" and more of mechanisms.
