Good for birding ? 70-200mm + TC-1.7

I am starting , is it o.k. for birds not so far ? is their another alternative in this price with great sharpnes in this kind of optic ?

I have the 70-200 and a TC-2.0. I have gotten some "good" results so far, but I think its only my fault they have not been better. From my experience the setup you are recommending might be a little better than the 2.0. That said I have seen other peoples work with the setup you are thinking about, and I have seen some awesome results with birds.

As to the forum sheriff who was so fussy.... I liked your reply.
 
Sorry to bother you all , Iam new in the forum and I will be more carefull in the future but their are forms to transmit things and people who study in reasonable schools know perfectly what POLITE mens , other do not and is too late for them to learn .

The sharpness is good IMO, but maybe the reach is not enough for small birds. Here is a shot with the 70-200VR + TC17 (on a D200):
