That's because they are lenses, not filters.

"Lenses" are attached to the lens mount, while "filters" are attached
to the filter thread. So there.

You can attach lenses in front of the main lens too. Changing the
focal length with a tele- or wide angle adapter comes to mind.

I wouldn't say that those are "filters" but rather one or more
lenses.

That would depend on how you define "filters". If it's "anything that gets attached to filter thread", then those are indeed filters. What's your definition of a filter?
