Is a Didymium filter necessary these days for shooting glass blowing?

I am going to be shooting a glass blower at work in the next few days, and I am wondering if a Didymium filter is still necessary (in the digital world) to deal with the sodium flare put off by the glass.

If it is, is the Hoya "Intensifier" a sufficient filter? I tried Googling for this, but there is surprisingly little written about the subject.

Thank you.
