Is there any LaserJet which color photo output will match the Canon S900?
Though the LaserJet is expansive, but the inkjet is also expansive in use.

If the LaserJet's output quality is good, I think maybe it's better for me to print at least 10 photos every day.
Can any one recommand a brand?
Thanks.

A high quality laser jet will cost you many many times the price of the s900. I looked into them a few months ago for work (not for photo usage). Even though we were not going to use for photos, we were concerned with how the photos would look on our flyers, presentations, etc, because our product relates to digital imaging. I submitted several images for sample printouts and was very disappointed in the results. For a machine that retails about $6000, at the low end, the results were far inferior to those from a photo quality ink jet. The prints have a waxy look to them too, so white areas on the picture will look like the paper surface, but the colored areas look like they were melted onto the paper (which they pretty much were, actually, since that's how the toner is applied to the paper) and had an odd sheen the them. To top it off, the colors were not very accurate at all. Also, consumables are expensive and you can't run photo type paper through them.

I don't think that 10 prints per day warrents anything like that. A canon s900 should be able to handle that volume easily and you will be much happier with it. Not to mention the fact that it will take up a lot lses space!

I have an Epson 1280 similar quality photo output to your Canon (I think). I also own a Minolta QMS Majicolor 6100 which is a fantastic laser printer that will print exceptional photographs (for a laser). However, it does not even come close to my Epson nor your Canon.

Further I am not so sure that a laser is a more economical way to go after all. Toner costs $165.00 per cartridge and more for color, you also have other expenses like fuser oil and waste bottles. Good laser paper costs as much as good ink jet paper. An Epson 1280 can bought for under $500 my laser cost app $6000. When you factor in replacement costs I really wonder how much difference there is in total cost per page printed.

At the time I bought my QMS there was only three laser printers available that would print an image at 1200 dpi and the other two were more expensive.

An inkjet is multi-level. A laser is bi-level. So the inkjet has many more greyscales per printer spot, and, as a consequence, the laser cannot match the inkjet quality for photos, in much the same way an inkjet can't match a dye-sub, which is a continuous tone device.

Text is a different story.
