Tammy 28-75mm on FF, enough reach for indoor portraits?

I have a 5D on the way, and have used this lens with great success on 1.6x crop, but I'm considering it for the 5D, even though I'd lose about 45mm of FL.

My other option at this time would be the 28-105mm or 28-135mm as I cannot afford the 24-105mm f/4 right now.
All three of these lenses are similarly priced used (From $150 to $250).

I guess my question is for FF users with zooms to 70-80mm, are you able to get enough reach for good indoor portaits or close outdoor work, or do you get used to the lack of reach with the 28-75mm?

My understanding is that the 28-105mm or the 28-135 is ideal at f/8, but would probably not be as sharp as the 28--75mm at f/4.
