for MF lenses: viewfinder / focus screen

thank's a lot urje for this very interesting comparison.
I am surprised that the K-M hardly is smaller than the Ds.

I am in the very same boat as you, have the *istDs, do not want to forge out the cash for the K20D, like small bodies and wonder if the K-M could fit the bill.

I would love the IS, but since I mostly shoot manual lenses I worry about the viewfinder. How much of a difference does it make? On the *istDs I use a Pentax magnifying eyepiece and exchanged to focus screen with a split screen. Can both mods also be done on the K-M? Once I handled a K-M shortly in a shop and when I tried to take off the original eyepieve the nervous shop attendant did not want me to do it, even said it was not possible.

Since better AF is not very relevant to me but the above mentioned and high ISO performance I suspect that my conclusion should be the same as yours, better continue with the *istDs.

If you have any more questions, shoot!

thank's for the offer!
Your take on the difference of viewfinder, specially for using MF lenses?

And do you know if the eyepiece can be put and the focus screen can be exchanged?

thank you for this interesting topic and any further input,
cheers,
kuuan
