Wonderful topic, Mikey! I had two or three ideas but absolutely no time to carry them out. You were an excellent host! Sharon

....you need the snow, you really do for the local economy, and we down South really, really, really need the run off in spring when your snow melts.

So, yes, I will do a rain dance, (snow dance?) while wishing you much joy with the new member of the family (smile).

Oh, and voted both.

Best Wishes, Traveller

yeah - we REALLY do NEED it.

Every community has some common threads that run through it binding the local environment and culture together and making a place what it is. Our "fabric" is really made of various threads revolving around mount shasta - and snow is a critical element. Without it we will unravel. It is of course as you point out essential to the local economy. Many of our businesses are barely hanging in there at this moment. But it is more than that - it is who we are, really. From some of the world's best water to many variations of lifestyles encompassing SNOW and rivers, we all need it - we live it. Even the climbers that come from all over the world - if the mountain is not covered with snow, it is too dangerous to climb. A lady from nyc died last week trying to climb before there was enough stable snow. We simply MUST have it, and have it in our traditionally massive quantities!!! They are even seeding the clouds here. We live in scary times . . .

Will report out on the new toy when I have something :)

For the first time, I can say that I'm content with current status. I enjoy the 5D and 20D bodies that I have...I'm not lusting after any lenses...I love my computer, display, and printer setups...but then you said those words...

I'll await your review and read it with great interest. I'm seriously thrilled for you because I think it's what you've been hoping would come along. I'm really crossing my fingers that it meets your expectations and surpasses them by a long shot. I feel kind of giggly for you :-)
