Re-booting problem (ext. HD added)
I just installed a new external WD 640GB HD Essentials Book. After installation I formatted it with WinXp for NTFS Files. All seem well and I am going to use it to backup data and images.
When I did restart my PC though it failed to Boot until I turned of the new HD. Unplug it and I can boot from my PC justs fine however with the new ext. HD turned on I can not reboot the PC. I can turn off the WD by unplugging power, reboot and as soon as WinXP starts up I can plug the WD back in and not a problem. I wish to correct this as I don't want to turn off the ext. HD each time I reboot my PC. What is happening here? Suggestions please and thanks in advance as I am not a computer guru here.
