Which still digital cameras ara capable of live video output?
I mean before to take the photos.
All of them except DSLR's?

Thanks, skr

Just check the spec sheet- there are a lot of cameras that have AV out on them- mught double check in the forums here and ask if a specific camera does live video out, or just for slide shows of pictures already taken. My s404 has live video out- I even used it as a video camera by hooking it up to a portable vcr the other day.

great idea. Do you have a battery op. vcr? That would be ideal. I know they use to make the recorder seperate from the camera in the "old" days but those units usally required a special connector for the camear in.

Oh, yea- it's a pretty old unit with a big heavy battery and a padded shoulder harness. I'll have to check the connectors- it required a little radio shack shopping : rca to bnc maybe or rca to 10 pin??- I'll have to look. It's not a great sollution. Sony used to make a portable high-8 recorder that was pretty small- I wonder if you can still find those?

I used to work in video and have piles of older video equipment in my basement. You never know when you'll need a vcr that ignores copyguard or a power zoom lens for a jvc betacam. I just like cool looking electronics. I really need to get rid of some of this stuff- one video camera is a black and white tube camera that still works somehow- although everything looks like shots out of a 1940's horror film.

I'd mail it to you, but it's so heavy it cost almost $100 to ship it last time- and I don't thing the tube will survive any more bouncing around in the back of a mail truck.

I Want That Camera!

I might even have enough old junk around to actually hook it up to
something.
