Replacement for Canon 850is
I'm looking for a new compact to replace a Canon 850is camera. My main criteria are size and fast shutter lag. After that, wide angle would be a big plus to have.
I looked at the 860is but I wasn't impressed. Build quality seemed to be a lot lower than on the 850is and the overall controls were less intuitive. Most importantly, focus was not as sharp, even when using the same mode as the older unit.
I also looked at the Panasonic LX3 and FX37. The LX3 seems really nice, but is a bit pricey and also a big too big (depth) for day-to-day carry in a pocket. The FX37 was a lovely size, but the shutter lag was quite significant.
Any advice on a replacement for this old workhorse would be much appreciated!
