Professionals, tell me why you need a $7,000.00 SLR.

Esp with cameras like the 5D mark II coming out.

35 years as a commercial advertising photographer in NYC and LA and I can't see why 95% of the people would need anything more than one of these new $4,000.00 or less cameras. Files are so good now it seems unnecessary.

Like those old debates about lenses 10 years ago, how many clients or photographers could actually see a difference in the top 5 brands, answer.....None!

Yes, there is the occasion you might need a bigger file for art or billboards, and on the rare occasion for a few people speed maybe an issue.
On those rare occasions, just rent the needed system.

Can't you shoot 90 - 100% of your jobs without that $7000, D1 or Hasselblad / phase-one back.

Imo the differences are so small in image quality that un needed Bells and whistles are the only difference in these higher priced 35mm dslr type cameras.
Tell me different, i'd like to hear why I'm wrong.
