Dark photos (d40 pics)

I've been experimenting a bit recently with darkness in my photos.

Here's a few examples; they are all long exposure photos taken using nd filters in front of either my Sigma 10-20, Nikon 16-85vr or 70-300vr lenses :

  1. 1 - Power and Smoke.

an early morning long exposure photo of a coal fired power station in Yorkshire
Exposure Time = 121"
F Number = F9
ISO Speed Ratings = 200

  1. 2 - Fiddler's Ferry Power Station on the River Mersey

Exposure Time = 480"
F Number = F5.6
ISO Speed Ratings = 200

  1. 3 - The Echo Arena, Liverpool

Exposure Time = 121.1"
F Number = F5.6
ISO Speed Ratings = 200

  1. 4 - Southport Pier at dusk

The vignette on this one is a result of stacking two nd filters over my Sigma 10-20 lens. It can handle one but not two without significant vignetting.
Exposure Time = 240"
F Number = F4.5
ISO Speed Ratings = 200

  1. 5 - The Dying of the light

A long exposure photo of the bridge in France between the Île de Ré and La Rochelle
Exposure Time = 543"
F Number = F8
ISO Speed Ratings = 200
