Little League Baseball Lens Dilemma

I have a Canon 70-200 f/4 L IS, a 1D IIn, and a 40D. I'm going to be shooting action for my town's little league next spring. I think I'm going to need something longer to shoot the outfield. Do I...

1. Get a 300 f/4 L IS (2.8 is out of the question)

2. Get a 70-200 f/2.8 L IS and a 1.4 TC

3. Get a 70-200 f/2.8 L and a 1.4TC and a monopod.

4. just get a 1.4TC (does the loss of a stop of speed also affect DOF?)

5. save my money, I'm all set! (for shorter range I also have a 50/1.4 and a 17-55/2.8IS for the 40D)

Yeah, I posted in the lens forum too, but this one is so much faster
