Anyone that would buy a 35mm FF camera for the purpose of cropping to
match the FOV of a similar sized 4/3 lens is throwing the $1500
premium out the window.

True enough, but no-one has said otherwise.

The only benifit is being able to choose the

crop a bit differently. There are no other advantages. Noise is the
same. DR is the same. All is the same as you are comparing two 2x
crop cameras in the end.

This is just not correct. It isn't just the ability "to choose the crop a bit differently," it's the ability to use a larger focal length lens and capture the same image at the same resolution (measured by number of pixels) but at a lower pixel density. The lower pixel density will improve both dynamic range and tonality. Again, don't take my word for it; research will confirm what I'm saying. In addition to my prior suggestion of where to look, check the archives of this site when the decision was made to list pixel density as a camera characteristic. It really does matter.
