Seriously, a few on the thread have said that, thanks... Barry is an incredible resource and clearly has the DNG tattoo. I can't say enough about his site, you really should take a look. I was unaware of it, and I think it's the most complete resource on the web on DNG.

As far as the discussion, I truly believe that when two informed, intelligent people disagree, there often is what I think of as a "key"... one notion, one definition that is not shared, or not understood in the same way. Once the "key" is agreed on, then the disagreement on the bigger issue often disappears. I see this almost every time I teach a class, it's one of the things that makes it so exciting, seeing that "Eureka" thing happen when the lights go on. So I keep hammering away at definitions and concepts... (I'm not so much patient, as stubborn.)

...but, as the lightbulb-changing joke goes, the lightbulb really has to want to change...

Thanks again to the folks who've signed, maybe we can get something done with all this talk!
