made when it swings.

Trying to bring this thread back from dirt-throwing to the much more fun techie-nerd things: What if the mirror didn't swing the same way as it does in current (D)LSR's, but rather swung backwards underneath or above the sensor? I.e. so that swinging the mirror itself didn't add need for extra space - should be possible with some clever mechanics. Of course, it would necessitate extra space above or underneath the sensor, and the mechanics would be more complex. That should gain a few milimetres registration distance, though
