Hi,

Have you noticed a big difference in raws between a700 vs a900, what comes to the processing power neede by computer?

Iam currently using LR with my iMac, 2.14G, 2Gbmem and I wouldnt like to update my computer also if I buy the a900. So is it usable with "older" imac and LR with raws? It is slower yes, but is it still quite usable, what do you think?

I was surprised to see no difference speedwise when editing A100 RAWs and A900 RAWs. The 1:1 previews render a lot longer initially for the A900, but after that it's all very smooth and quick. I do have some more horsepower though, so take this with a grain of salt.

I have a dual core 2Gb XP pc, not top range, but still decent enough.

No problems with A900 raw samples I have played with. The only stuff that does slow things down (with previews, which you can pre render in LR), is high res film scans.

Unless you are running something with 1Gb or less ram (hey even 1gb could do it, with a lean install), and a single core dated cpu like a celeron or older P4, you should be getting decent enough speeds.
