...I like the color and brightness of the first one you posted, better than this one. It looks more natural. I see that less sharpening has affected some of the foliage, but not that grass on the left.

There's probably much to say for what 'Imqqmi' posted about resizing. One thing to try is resizing in a few increments, rather than one big downsize. I tried that on an image of a mandolin and it made a big difference in the strings. They ended up smoother.

Also, grass like that on the left is really tough to sharpen at all, without it looking grainy. Often times, I will sharpen an image and then go back and soften grass like that slightly, with a blur tool or history brush.
