You are right, I am not able to see the difference too.

However I think that it becomes significant when resizing, or somehow processing the image. This is why I normally use the "F" compression.

We can resolve that 12:1 is an excellent quality but, without doubt, 6:1 is better.

I'd prefer to be free to independently choose format and quality.
