I am trying to decide on buying either the Canon G10 or the Nikon
P6000. I have downloaded both these cameras user's manuals and still
can't make up my mind. The GPS feature of the P6000 is interesting,
but I am not sure that should be an important factor for buying a
camera. The reviews for the P6000 are not positive for the new RAW
format, which requires the Vista operating system. The Canon doesn't
require Vista. I am also interested in the Canon SX1 IS, which not
going to be sold for some time in the US, and is heavy. Help and
suggestions welcome.

I tried out the P6000 and as a camera it felt great, no in-depth tests, just went to my local shop and the owner brought it for me to check out as the "new Nikon compact" so the camera portion of it I can recommend, don't know much about the sensor

As for the raw format, if not right now, wouldn't you be able to use the Adobe converter to make it into their proprietary format and then load that into whatever program (only really feasible if it does raw plus JPEG so you know which to do)
