Magenta filters for less noise and more dynamic range

Joe, any particular reason you didn't mention my pet favorite, magenta?

There are many outdoor lighting conditions where the red and blue channels are between one and two stops lower than the green channel. The use of a magenta filter in this case lines up the channels closer together so that exposure may be increased, noise reduced, and dynamic range increased.
