In years long past, we used to use didymium (neodymium +praseodymium) filters to perform wavelength calibration on spectrophotometers as well as use them in eyeglasses when doing glassblowing. Your (very well done) article has aroused some interest in trying one for photographic purposes. I must have seen a passing reference or two for this use, but your very learned summary really opened my eyes to the possibilities that exist using this device.

I concur with previous posters who have remarked that your contributions are always worthwhile reading. I actively search out your posts.
