The breakdown . . .

. . .occurs when people assume that double the print size is a print with double the diagonal area (they call it linear so people don't call "bullsh!t) instead of a print that actually doubles the area.

Want to play a party trick on those people . . .

Print some A4s, some A3's and some A2's and then show them to a crowd of the photographically uninitiated: then ask them which print is double the size of the other.

Two print sizes up in "A" standard is a ginormous leap in size.

A2 -- 23.3 x 16.5

A3 - 16.5 x 11.6

A4 - 11.6 x 8.2

Like I said, it is like saying a 16x20 is "twice" the size of an 8x10.

Most people would laugh at that comparison if they saw it in real life.
