I like a lot of others have one of the E10 with the manual focus problems. I have done many of the tests you have recommended in the forum and after 4 months of owning the camera I have yet to focus properly in manual. Now, the experiences I have seen by others refer to the US repair centres. I live in England and have contacted Olympus over here. They tell me it will be my eyes. I told them my eyes work perfectly well in auto giving me a clear view in the finder as it does in manual. I have also changed eyes, (used someone else). Well after speaking to this person I am not convinced they intend to do anything for me. However, I have posted my camera off today for them to fix. Have any of you any experience of the UK repair department?
Comments would be very helpful.

best wishes

All I can say is that when it comes back, it is likely to work properly if UK refurb E10s are anything to go by - I know of Three so far including my own which have no dead pixels or faulty Manual focussing, all have the latest firmware too..

for the record a collegue bought a spanky new one and it had BOTH of the above faults and an earlier revision firmware (1.30 rather than 1.33), he had it replaced and the second one had the focus fault too.. the third one was OK.

I don't know how quick they are at turning repairs around and to be honest I don't want to have to find out - best of luck and hope you get it back soon..

Just got mine back. It did not go to Portugal but to Germany. Maybe my complaints to Japan finally helped here.

Really this feels like a different camera. Firmware 133. Focus feels quicker and is more reliable. MF has better accuracy. Less noise. The camera seems to have higher resolution. Setting sharpness to soft and images are still sharp but without lightened edges. Contrast is better. Colour is a little richer. Using 1:8 compression is different in that images have fewer obvious artifacts.

I am impressed with this 'new camera' and wonder what the hell camera I had for a year... I have a good mind to go back to Jessops and demand compensation - especially since this camera was batch checked twice before I got it! Perhaps that was the reason...

Not everyone has a bad story.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I take encouragement that to keep trying will probably pay off. Complaints to Japan? that must be a good story.
Care to share?

Best wishes
