Re: Monitor recommendation

110% of WHAT color gamut?

I use an older model of the same display on my PC. It's pretty nice but by default the colors are pretty vibrant for doing color correction.

I got fed up with peeping at a 17 inch monitor so did some homework
on reviews and specs and ordered the DELL 2408WFP.

I am delighted with the monitor and it seems to calibrate ok with my
Hueypro to give nice natural colours. The brightness is phenomenal
and needs to be turned down...I found about 16% to be right.

It is an 8-bit monitor with 110% colour gamut, high contrast, deep
blacks, clean whites and has the bonus of some photography-friendly
features like a 4-port USB hub and multi card reader. Its above full
HD TV definition with 1920x1200 resolution and can easily be viewed
on a normal desktop.

Most importantly its a joy to view and work on images. The 24 inch
size allows you to have folder or develop panels open in Lightroom
while still presenting the image at a great size for working on...on
the smaller monitors I was always having to open and close these
windows and panels.

Highly recommended and generally considered to be best at the price
at the mo.
