Cave Photos

Very nice photos Dave. Would not be out of place in a pop science mag
article about caves or an extreme sports magazine.
Thanks!!
You are a brave man though, bringing your gear to that environment.
It might be weather sealed, but I would guess it is not immune to
drowning or rock slammin. :)
So far the K20D has taken a few minor "rock slams" without any problem. I like the K20D so much that I would rather take it than my other cameras.

Thanks!! On wet caves one do have to watch the weather. I have never been trapped by flood waters but have been very close a few times. It is always better to be lucky than good.

Great pictures! They bring back memories of my younger days. No wet
caves for me though. I got stuck in one when it rained a downpour an
hour after we went in. We spent close to two days waiting for the
water to go down. That kind of soured me on caving for a while.

Thanks!! It was a fun trip for a hot summer day.

Dave
WOW dave you guys really get into it - great shots.

Very nice series of photos! Congrats!
Also very nice cave, with impressive runoff!
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for taking the time to look and make comments. The cave is a classic stream cave. It takes about 1-1/2 hours to traverse between the two entrances. It is mostly walking, but has a few short crawls and short swims.
I'll spend my next week in the annual cavers camp held by our caving
group, I hope to get some photos from underground. This year we have
our camp in a "fresh" zone - so there are only traces of caves and a
few promising sinkholes... we got some work to do before shooting in
the underground :)
Checking out new areas for caves is always fun. You neve rknow what you will find.

I like the "sliding" picture. Here I see some adult, well-equipped men who are obviously take their hobby very seriously - sliding down a muddy bank and covered in gunk just like a bunch of little kids. It looks like you guys are having a great time and you've captured some great shots of it. I'm sure your companions will really treasure your shots of them!

There is no reason why only children can have all the fun. :-)

Thanks it was a great time. I am glad my photos showed it.
