Decided (tentatively) on a 1000D

Re: but then again... and again...

Size wouldn't be a problem. I'm 5-11, 220 and am used to lugging around a ton of fixed focus lenses. And the heavier the camera, the less shake on a tripod.

My S3IS looks pretty silly sitting on my big Bogen. I end up mostly using a monopod or a smaller bogen with the leg supports filed and center post cut so it lays flat.

A week or so ago I was checking out an Xti and 40D at BesyBuy and thought "now that looks like a real camera" of the 40D.

of the biggest things I have against the 30D series (or even 1D
series) is the weight and size.

I was looking at either a 40D or 450D. When I picked up the 40D I
thought, "wow, that is big." I ended up getting the 450D.
