Oh no! My camera rolled into river...

LOL! No worries... it's an E-3

Here's the river... after I fished the E-3 + 11-22 out, and wiped it down with my t-shirt.

...and later the same evening, our Safari Group meeting at Arbor Low Stone Circle

I know that lots of people wonder, why bother with a water sealed camera? just don't use it in the rain, or use one of those plastic bag thingies if you were going to shoot in the wet... but this was a perfect example for me, of the value of weather sealed cameras - accidents happen!

We were approached on Saturday by a nice chap with a Hasselblad H1, we were having a break for refreshments, and a coordination session in the Press Centre at the CLA Country Fair (see http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1022&message=28764115 )

The chap was concerned that the lcd display in his H1 had gone blank... it turned out that the heat was simply too much for it. Meanwhile, we continued shooting with the entire range of Oly kit, E-330, E-1, E-3, E-420, E-520... nobody had a single problem all day long - and it was very hot indeed!

E-520 + 14-35mm f2 SWD
1/2500s f/2.0 at 31.0mm iso100

1/1600s f/4.0 at 24.0mm iso100

There's a lot to be said for using lightweight, rugged kit in the real world

Kind Regards
