Improving EyeOne ICC Profiles Epson2400

Hi all

Epson 2400 MIS K4 inks photo black printing onto PermaJet Photo Art Pearl paper. Using Premium Photo Glossy Paper in print driver setting as recommended by PermaJet. The 1728 patch profile is measured using an EyeOne having left for 24 hours to dry. The colours are excellent and the greys very neutral. So far so good. Using the following evaluation print http://www.outbackprint.com/printinginsights/pi048/essay.html the shadows seem to me blocked up. I can only see a difference in the black squares from number 12. I feel the printer is putting too much ink down so tried reducing the colour density by -10% This results in a little better print but not great. Printing from CS using Relative Colorimetric with black point compensation selected ON.

Any ideas or am I being fussy.

Peter.
